Privacy policy
The plain version: we collect only what we need to reply to you and do the work, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to admin@getspineandreel.com.
What we collect
- From the form or your emails: your name, your email address, your book’s title, the launch date, a link and anything else you choose to write.
- When we work together: the manuscript or ebook, the cover, photos and the notes from our calls.
- When you pay: your name, billing address and the invoice. Card details go straight to our payment provider. We never see them.
- Visits to this site: page views counted without cookies and without identifying you. The “Try it with a line from your book” preview runs in your browser, and nothing you type there is sent anywhere unless you send it to us.
Why we use it
To reply to you, quote and plan the work, make it, invoice you, and keep the records the law requires. We don’t sell your information, share it for advertising or use your manuscript for anything other than your work.
Who else handles it
A few services handle it on our behalf, and only as far as each job needs:
- our email provider, for messages;
- the form service that passes your message to our inbox;
- our payment provider, for invoices and payments;
- file storage, for the book and the work in progress.
Ad platforms such as Meta and TikTok get only the videos and targeting we agree with you, in your own ad account.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t become work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Your manuscript and working files: deleted within 90 days of the work ending, unless you ask us to keep them for the next book.
- Invoices and payment records: as long as tax law requires.
Your choices
You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Write to admin@getspineandreel.com and we’ll answer within one business day, and act within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to complain to your data protection authority.
Cookies
This site doesn’t set cookies for tracking or advertising, so there’s no cookie banner. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when your browser fetches them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top. If it’s a big change and we’re working together, we’ll tell you by email.
